As a reknown superstar in the highly-competitive classic-gaming realm, Jay Woodard has been selected to be one of the featured Superstars in the Walter Day Collection of Video Game & Pinball Trading Cards. During the recent Ottumwa Trading Card Ceremonies, Jay was among an elite group of video game champions who were honored on trading cards for their important contributions to the global gaming culture. Presented by Billy MItchell and Walter Day, the trading card was unveiled -- along with an AWARD CERTIFICATE shown herein -- on Saturday, November 11, 2017, during the Ottumwa Old School Arcade Galaxies of Gaming Festival, at the Quincy Place Mall, in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Jay Woodard is a legendary Golden Age Gamer who is among the elite few who actually played in the hallowed halls of the original Twin Galaxies Arcade back in the early 1980s. Jay Woodard made a visit to Twin Galaxies back in February, 1984 during the Canada-USA Video Game Team Conference and was able to set a world record score on Atari’s arcade Star Wars (86,998,553 points) on his first attempt in a sanctioned event. This was an honor that he still takes a lot of pride in accomplishing. Jay was originally from Winona, Minnesota, and now resides in the Minneapolis area with his family. He currently manages a data center for a large corporation, but continues his love of video games. His love for gaming has been passed on to next generation of Woodard’s. There have been hours spent with family playing a variety of arcade, pinball, and console games.
