The Video Game Summit is back on in 2021! We are excited to announce that the VGS in Villa Park, IL will be bigger and better than before.  Our new layout at the Odeum give room for more vendors, games, and tournaments. We will have arades, consles, and other playable machines to give the gamer a fun experience while they are at VGS. Raffles and prizes will be given out to winners. We got some great special guests coming to the Video Game Summit this year.

Brett Weiss - Longtime gamer, freelance writer, and national columnist Brett Weiss has been a respected journalist and historian in the gaming and pop culture communities for well over two decades. His work has appeared in numerous publications, including Old School Gamer, Game Informer, Gameroom Magazine, Classic Gamer Magazine, the Pingame Journal, Video Game Collector, Video Game Trader, Fangoria, Filmfax, and AntiqueWeek, among many others. Weiss is also the author of 10 books, including the Classic Home Video Games series, The 100 Greatest Console Video Games: 1977-1987, Encyclopedia of KISS, and The SNES Omnibus volumes 1 and 2. Brett is the host of a quickly growing YouTube show, Tales from a Retro Gamer.

Paul E. Niemeyer - Paul E. Niemeyer started his career in video game art by illustrating for industry legend Paul Farris in the art department at Bally/Midway from 1982-1984. At Bally/Midway, Paul did art on games like Tapper, PacMan Plus, Super PacMan, Professor PacMan, TRON, Satan’s Hollow, Spy Hunter, WACKO, Time Killers, Aeroboto, Star Guards,  and an endless, anonymous list of prototype games. In 1984, Paul went freelance and had a dual career as an designer/illustrator in the Chicago ad agencies, and a game art designer/illustrator for the video game community.

The Video Game Summit, now in its 17th year, brings together classic and modern generation gamers from all over the country to swap stories, games. Visit our Game Area where you can play games like Tempest 2000 on the Jaguar, Bomberman 94 on the Turbografx-16 and Phoenix on the 2600 just to name a few as we plan to include other systems that everyone can enjoy including home brew games for the 2600.

VGS is open to the public and people of all ages with an interest in video gaming are encouraged to attend. According to the event’s promoter, Daniel Iacovelli,”After another positive response from last year, we decided to return to the The Odeum Expo Center,” Dan goes on to say “that we also decided to  keep our game area to the back room where we had  them last year and keep vendors to the front also like last year”.

Best of all, admission to The 2021 Video Game Summit is only 10.00 per person* (kids 12 and under with adult is free). *those who register online will receive a e-book version of the program for free(we will not have any copies of the programs at the show( a free e-book version will also be put up  during the show and stay up until we fix  it up for sale )

Vendors space consist of one 8 foot bare table (if you want it skirted you have to bring in your table cover)and 2 folding chairs for $80.00 each limit of 3 per vendor (power can be purchased from the Odeum) 

  The Video Game Summit is being held on July 17th, 2021 from 10 am until 6 pm. at The Odeum Expo Center 1033 North Villa Ave, Villa Park,IL.
