Phillip Atkinson -- aka 'KDZ" -- is a two-time EVO World Fighting Game Finalist and the 2013 World Champion for Injustice: Gods Among Us. In 2010 KDZ captained the US National Soul Calibur 4 team at the World Game Cup in Cannes, France. Even after 12 years, KDZ continues a career in the fighting game scene as the captain for the Guinness World Record-recognized eSports team, Empire Arcadia. Playing games such as Street Fighter V and Injustice 2, KDZ looks to expand his repertoire and compete on other fighting games such as Tekken 7 and Dragon Ball Fighters Z. Not limited to just the fighting game genre, KDZ also plays League of Legends and Counter Strike. On November 9th, 2017, KDZ voyaged to Ottumwa, Iowa, to honor his team's founder, Isaiah TriForce Johnson, as he was inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2016. During his time in Ottumwa, he marveled at the amazing eSports history that was on display that demonstrated that Ottumwa -- world renown as the “Video Game Capital of the World” -- is recognized as the birth place of organized, competitive eSports. He has found a new level of respect for the history of eSports and looks to share it with other players of this modern era. • Trading Card artwork by Caerwyn Akiwumi-Jones
