Presented by Billy MItchell and Walter Day, the trading card was unveiled -- along with an AWARD CERTIFICATE shown herein -- on Saturday, November 11, 2017, during the Ottumwa Old School Arcade Galaxies of Gaming Festival, at the Quincy Place Mall, in Ottumwa, Iowa. To see the other trading cards unveiled during this ceremony -- or to see the long chronological history of the TRADING CARDS AWARDS TRADITION, go to this link: Chronological History of the Trading Card Awards Ceremonies

Patrick O’Malley has been described as “a passionate, ambitious, and imaginative leader of the video game culture.” The creation of Star Worlds Arcade has provided a wonderful outlet for his passion. Considered one, if not the last coin-operated arcade from the ‘80s, the arcade is of significant historical importance and in 2011 was inducted into the Twin Galaxies International Registry of Historic Video Game Arcades. At his DeKalb, IL arcade, Patrick has honored people in the gaming industry such as Steve Kordek, Eugene Jarvis, Larry DeMar, and Walter Day. He has provided games at many classic gaming events locally and in other states, and for groups such as the local United Way and the DeKalb Public Library. Patrick began his adventure operating video games while still in high school and is about to complete his 33rd year in business. On November 11, 2017, Patrick was inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame when he received their Community Action Award. He was recognized as an individual who selflessly serves the global gaming industry through charitable activities while inspiring others to participate in harmonious community-building enterprises. Patrick is a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to video games. He uses that knowledge not only to preserve and maintain his own collection of games, but he enjoys sharing his expertise with others. Photo by Michelle Brennan • Trading Card artwork by Caerwyn Akiwumi-Jones
