To honor John "Gamester81" Lester for his important contributions to the gaming culture, this trading card and award were presented at the Classic Game Fest Trading Card Awards Ceremonies, July 29, 2017, in Austin, Texas.
In 2008 John decided to start a video game review show on YouTube called Gamester81. As an expert in the retro gaming field with a collection of more than 200 unique consoles and over 5,000 games, John has produced over 600 videos totaling millions of views since it started. John is also one of the founding hosts of the All Gen Gamers (AGG) Podcast. AGG is a podcast for people and video games of all generations. John is also co-host of the ColecoVision’s Podcast as of 2015. In 2011 John launched www.gamester81.com, which is a gaming community website that showcases a variety of different shows. In early 2013 John started producing video games. His first game was simply named Gamester81: The Video Game, which came out for the ColecoVision (his favorite retro console). In early 2014 John joined the team at CollectorVision Games as Co-Owner to help them produce new games for the Atari 2600, ColecoVision, Intellivision, NES, SNES, Genesis, SMS, MSX, and Game Boy Advance. CollectorVision Games is releasing their first game for modern systems soon called Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan, which will be released on Steam, Xbox One, PS4, Vita, and the Nintendo Switch. In 2015 John and a team of his friends founded the Game On Expo event in Phoenix, AZ. Game On Expo has grown to the largest gaming event in Arizona, and attracts 1,000s of attendees every year.
