Sarah Pinsker started writing and submitting science fiction stories in middle school. Fiction took a backseat to songwriting after college, and she spent several years as a touring singer/songwriter. Her first pro SF publication appeared in 2012; she has since sold over forty stories to almost every magazine in the field. She won the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award for her novelette "In Joy, Knowing the Abyss Behind," and the Nebula Award for the novelette Our Lady of the Open Road. She has been a finalist for the Nebula four times. Her fiction has been translated into a half dozen languages and appeared in numerous Year's Best anthologies. She is an active participant in SFF community, attending cons and workshops, hosting the Dangerous Voices Variety Hour for the Baltimore Science Fiction Society, and serving as a Director-at-Large for SFWA. Her first collection, Sooner or Later Everything Falls Into the Sea, will be published by Small Beer Press in 2019. • She lives in a hundred year old house in Baltimore, Maryland, with her wife, their elderly spaniel, and a yard full of sentient vines.
