During the recent Ottumwa Trading Card Ceremonies, Carl "Blaque Pauldron" Rogers was among an elite group of video game luminaries from Empire Arcadia who were honored on trading cards for their important contributions to the global gaming culture. Their trading cards were presented by Billy MItchell and Walter Day -- along with the AWARD CERTIFICATE shown below -- on Saturday, November 11, 2017, during the Ottumwa Old School Arcade Galaxies of Gaming Festival, at the Quincy Place Mall, in Ottumwa, Iowa. To see the other trading cards unveiled during this ceremony -- or to see the long chronological history of the TRADING CARDS AWARDS TRADITION, go to this link: Chronological History of the Trading Card Awards Ceremonies

Carl “Blaque Pauldron” Rogers’ mother introduced him to gaming at 4 years of age. His mother’s NES is where it all started for the “Man in the Mask.” In elementary school, a hand-me-down Sega would become his system of choice and Sonic and Mortal Kombat forever solidified Blaque Pauldron’s love for platformers and fighting games. Blaque began competing locally during the era of the PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Game Cube. However, it was Soul Caliber and Super Smash Brothers that generated the dynamic impulse that put Blaque on the road to a professional eSports career with Empire Arcadia. Blaque Pauldron still competes on these games to this day when the opportunity arises. But, when he’s not competing, he spends his time working on his own line of comic book titles and spends time entertaining his followers on YouTube. Blaque Pauldron joined Empire Arcadia after meeting Triforce in 2013. He now continues to support and represent Triforce's visions in gaming through Empire Arcadia's Third Dynasty. Blaque proudly represented Empire Arcadia in Ottumwa, Iowa during the 2016 Induction Ceremonies for the International Video Game Hall of Fame. • Trading Card artwork by Caerwyn Akiwumi-Jones
